Justice Elizabeth Raper
Justice Raper was appointed to the Federal Court on 2 May 2022 and is one of the National Co-ordinating judges for the Employment and Industrial Relations National Practice Area on the Court.
Justice Raper graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1996 and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 1998 from the University of Sydney, and was admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1999. Justice Raper commenced her career as an associate to the Hon Justice Paul Munro in the Australian Industrial Relations Commission. From 1999 to 2005 her Honour was an associate, and then a senior associate, at Baker and McKenzie. Her Honour thereafter has lectured and written extensively in employment, industrial and discrimination law whilst practising as a Barrister. Her Honour was appointed Senior Counsel in 2019 before being appointed to the Bench.
