Phil Pasfield commenced practise as a solicitor in 1980. From the outset he practised in industrial and employment law and has continued to do so until his recent retirement from full-time work last year.
Over the years he has represented unions and their members across a number of major industries including construction, coal mining, maritime, rail, aviation, social welfare and postal and telecommunications. He has been involved in significant industrial litigation during this period including for example, the BLF deregistration, the Pilots Dispute, the BLF merger with the CFMEU and related assets issues, the administration of the HSU, the Trade Union Royal Commission, the MUA amalgamation with the CFMMEU and, more recently, the withdrawal of the Mining and Energy Division from the CFMMEU.
He has been involved in all aspects of industrial and employment law and has always had a special interest in the law as applied to registered organisations.
