Sascha Peldova-McClelland

Sascha Peldova-McClelland is a Senior Legal/Industrial Officer at the ACTU and the current Vice-President of ULIO. She is focused on helping the ACTU win its industrial relations and equality priorities. She has worked on major legislative reforms including Respect@Work, Secure Jobs Better Pay, Paid FDV leave, paid parental leave, and the new costs protection reforms. Sascha was previously an Industrial Officer at the NSW Nurses’ and Midwives Association and at Unions NSW, and began her legal career at Maurice Blackburn.

Sascha is passionate about achieving systemic change that improves the rights of workers, and contributes to achieving substantive equality for all, with a particular interest in gender equality. She spent two years advocating for the Equal Access costs model to be adopted in federal anti-discrimination law in collaboration with some very fierce women, and the passage of the Costs Protection Bill last year was one of her proudest moments.

When Sascha gets tired of lawyering she can be found having very long career breaks in the wilds of Costa Rica and Patagonia. Although she’s all grown up now and should probably buy a house instead.
