Rachel Francois

Rachel Francois is a barrister practicing in NSW with over 20 years' experience in government and administrative law as well as in human rights, consumer protection and commercial law. Rachel regularly appears in the Federal Courts at first instance and on appeal in the Full Court and High Court. Rachel has run many discrimination and sexual harassment matters, including the landmark appeal of Richardson v Oracle [2014] FCAFC 82, which set a new high watermark for general damages and found that the award of $18,000 at first instance was manifestly inadequate and increased it to $130,000, including $100,000 for general damages. Rachel also acted for Kristy Fraser-Kirk in her $37 million sexual harassment suit against David Jones.
